Wix Rolling Out AI-Powered Site Planning & Visualization Tool via @sejournal, @martinibuster

Wix announced it is rolling out an AI-based tool that simplifies the site planning and visualization step, dramatically compressing the time from planning to site rollout.  The  new tool enables agencies and enterprise users to create a visual map and wireframe website representation for planning new websites, simplifying one of the most fundamental tasks of creating a high performing website.

Wix

Wix is a cloud-based website builder for small to medium size businesses to enterprise level companies that handles all of the back-end technology necessary for creating a professional online web presence with a state of the art website performance and search optimization features. It offers complete customization, marketing and integrations with Google business features that small businesses, agencies and advanced users require.

Site Planning And Visualization

One of the first steps for creating a high performance website that is user friendly, easy to navigate and search optimized is planning the site structure. This is important for every website but especially important for large websites with thousands of products or topics. A taxonomical topic structure that makes it easy for users to locate what they’re looking for begins with creating a visual representation of major category sections with hierarchical nodes that represent subcategories and all of the associated web pages.

Wix’s new tool is an AI-powered tool that can create the visualization after users input the project details. The visual representation allows agencies and designers to view what the site structure will look like and make decisions ahead of time. The visual representation can then be exported to share with clients and stakeholders. The AI can even pre-insert content suggestions. The resulting visual representation can be fully customized and edited. A task that ordinarily can take weeks to months is compressed to days.

Wix explains how it works:

“Agencies and web professionals can input project details, including business type, site description, goals, target audience, and tone of voice. After filling in the information, a tailored sitemap structure is created detailing pages and sections.

If preferred, bespoke wireframes can be generated to kick off the creation process. Both the tailor-made visual sitemap and wireframes are created with pages, sections and relevant business applications.”

The tool’s built-in collaboration functions can reflect changes made to the sitemap in real-time, speeding up the process of getting project buy-in and moving forward.

New Wix AI Tool Scales Content With Authenticity via @sejournal, @martinibuster

Wix announced a suite of AI tools that can automatically create topics and article outlines for blog posts that maintain quality and authenticity, helping businesses overcome an important hurdle of engaging and converting potential customers.

An Average Of 86% More Organic Traffic

An interesting insight shared by Wix is that they’ve noticed that websites with blogs on average cultivate 86% more organic traffic than sites without blogs. This new tool helps Wix users capitalize on that insight by making it easier to plan content, create the outlines for content, create a draft a new article and even create the entire article.

Publishing content at a constant pace is a key way to build an audience and increase organic traffic. A Content Plan or Content Calendar is a key way to ensure that an organization can get on track to publishing that content with the regularity necessary for successfully increasing more traffic to a site. Wix’s new tool automates the process of creating content in a flexible way that adjusts to the user’s needs.

Preserves Authenticity

Perhaps one of the most interesting feature of this tool is that users can decide how much the AI is involved in order to preserve the authenticity, creativity and insights that a human can provide by coming up with topic ideas, outlines and article drafts that can serve as a starting point. The suite of tools can even simplify the process of generating images for the articles.

Another feature of the Wix’s new tool is that the process of creating content can be automated based on existing content, products and coming events.

Wix shared the following features and benefits:

  • Versatile Content Creation: From ideation to creating full posts or outlines, users have a broad selection of content creation tools depending on their needs.
  • Extensive Customization: Select the outline tool for a suggestion on the structure paired with writing instructions, combining AI assistance with creative control. Users can fine-tune their content to resonate with their target audience, ensuring it meets their preferences and interests.
  • Titles, Image, and SEO Optimization Tools: Users can enhance blog titles, images, and existing text with AI-driven suggestions. Additionally, users can add the keywords they want to include for SEO, and it will be incorporated throughout the content.
  • Visual Content Integration: Images are included to make the blog content more visually appealing, intending to increase views and engagement. Users can describe what they want to create and choose their style and a unique image will be generated.
  • Access to Wix Business Solutions: The AI blog tools are completely integrated into the Wix platform, giving users access to connect their blogs to Wix business solutions. This allows for convenient features like sending promotional emails to subscribers with a single click, linking blog content to pricing plans, and much more.

New Wix AI Image Tools Makes Image Editing Apps Virtually Obsolete via @sejournal, @martinibuster

Wix recently announced the addition of three new image editing tools to their suite of AI-based website building tools. The combination of the new AI image generation and editing tools and the AI Website Builder as part of the overall Wix website building platform provides users with virtually everything they need to easily create professional websites.

Wix users no longer have to jump between different apps or pay for third party apps to create and optimize images, everything can be done in one place with one platform.

Three New AI Image Tools

Wix introduced three new tools for image editing that enables users to essentially ditch third-party image editors because virtually everything they need for creating, optimizing and editing images is now available on the Wix platform.

The new Wix AI image tools are:

  • AI Image Creator
  • Object Eraser
  • AI Image Editor

AI Image Creator

The AI image creator enables Wix users to create images for their websites completely from scratch. There’s no need to subscribe and pay extra to a stock images library, everything a small business needs for generating images now exists within the Wix platform. The tool works in the familiar text-to-image prompt generation mode where a user describes the image and the AI generates it. Users can create images in a variety of styles such as photo, painting, illustration, cartoons and other styles.

AI Object Eraser

This is a neat feature that can erase objects within a photograph. All a user needs to do is to highlight an object and select to remove it. That means that any publisher can easily improve an image that would otherwise not be usable, no extra technical or photo editing skills are necessary.

AI Image Editor

This is a prompt-based tool that that can edit an image to do add things to an image or change just a section of it. All a user has to do is highlight what they want the AI to change and then tell it what they want changed. For example, the AI can change the texture of a wall so that it’s wood or change a t-shirt a person’s wearing so that it’s now a casual button up shirt.

Ido Kosover, Head of Media at Wix, said:

“These AI-powered features underscore our commitment to providing users with powerful tools that simplify the website creation process while ensuring professional-quality results.”

Wix’s new AI image tools provides exceptional value to publishers because it saves them from having to purchase or subscribe to third party tools and services like photo editors and stock photo libraries. Professional images are now available to all Wix users, regardless of their technical experience.

Google Case Study Reveals Search Console Evolution Via APIs via @sejournal, @martinibuster

New Google case study shows how Search Console APIs allows data to be reviewed and manipulated within a CMS or a proprietary SEO dashboard. While the article is a case study, a call to action at the end of the article reveals how Google is using APIs to transform search console from a SaaS to a data stream that can be manipulated in the GUI of your choice.

Application Programming Interface (API)

API is a widely used technology that acts as a bridge between two applications that enables one to manipulate the other. It’s use is everywhere, particularly in WordPress where an API can allow a plugin to access and manipulate the website information contained in the database.

Wix Case Study

The collaboration between Google and Wix embedded Google’s Search Console APIs within the Wix dashboard, streamlining the SEO process for millions of Wix users globally.

Users benefit by gaining easy access to useful insights and functionalities of Google Search Console within the familiar Wix dashboard, keeping a unified experience within Wix without having to learn a different user interface.

Implementation and User Benefits

Wix’s integration strategy focused on leveraging Google APIs to enhance its own SEO tools that users are already familiar with. The process involved choosing and integrating specific Google functionalities that complement Wix’s user interface (dashboard UI), resulting in a more intuitive experience of Google’s search console features.

The case study reports that users who integrated search console APIs experienced an average increase in traffic of 15% over the course of one year.

Ecommerce sites experienced a 24% increase in Gross Product Value compared to Wix similar Wix ecommerce sites that did not use the search console API integrations.

According to the case study:

“So far, over 2 million Wix sites connected their Search Console account and submitted a sitemap to Google through the new integration. They also regularly used the new features, such as Site Inspection and Analytics Reports to troubleshoot indexing errors, fix them and get insights on resulting changes in performance. “

APIs Enables Evolution Of Search Console

The successful integration of Google’s APIs into Wix’s platform demonstrates the value of collaborations between Google and companies that offer content management systems, including webhosts that develop their own point and click web builders based on WordPress.

But another goal of the case study is to show how inhouse SEO tools and dashboards can integrate Google Search Console functionalities through the use of APIs.

It’s not until the end of the case study that Google discretely makes a call to action soliciting organizations to contact them through a web form or Twitter.

The article writes:

“If you’re a CMS and interested in collaborating with us, reach out using this form or through our social media.”

The call to action shows how the API is changing how Google’s search console data is accessed and pointing toward a trend where it’s less about signing in to search console to view data within Google’s user interface.

APIs already enable importing search console data into Screaming Frog to combine it with crawl data and of course there are WordPress plugins that can use it, too. The Wix case study shows a novel application that showcases the flexibility of how search console data can be used in the future beyond how it’s currently accessed.
